In the face of looming threats to immigrants, Muslims, people of color, and the LGBTQ community and the rise of hate speech, harassment and hate crimes, we affirm our belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. In opposition to any steps to undermine the right of every citizen to vote or to turn back advances in access to health care and reproductive rights, we affirm our commitment to justice and compassion in human relations. And against actions to weaken or eliminate initiatives to address the threat of climate change – actions that would threaten not only our country but the entire planet – we affirm our unyielding commitment to protect the interdependent web of all existence. We will oppose any and all unjust government actions to deport, register, discriminate, or despoil. As people of conscience, we declare our commitment to translate our values into action as we stand on the side of love with the most vulnerable among us. We welcome and invite all to join in this commitment for justice. The time is now.

The impact that our mothers have on us lasts a lifetime. What type of mother did you or do you have: cheerleader, coach, teacher, helicopter, absent, distracted, enabler, needy or independent? As we mature, our relationships with our mothers evolve and change. The Reverend Leonetta will look at the way that our character is shaped; the forgiveness we may need to extend and the force of nature that mothers hold in our lives. Please join us this Sunday for service and coffee and conversation in Adam's Hall afterwards.

Join us on Sunday at 10:30 for a service led by Reverend Leonetta about Contagious Generosity. It's the second Sunday of the month, so kids can go upstairs to the Marge Brown Room for chapel. The service will be followed by a Soup Buffet and play date for all ages!

Some of the highlights: We sang "Come, Come Whoever You Are" in harmony (starts at 0:39 - if you listen closely you can hear when they cut off Leonetta's mic, sorry Leonetta) https://youtu.be/Hex_Sq7Pl8M) We are still collecting bottle caps and we will be selling fabric bags to collect money for the bench as well, starting next week. We welcomed three new members to our church (at 11:00 minutes) and Jude refers to one of them as "Tiny Tim" at 11:35, getting some laughs from the congregation. https://youtu.be/Hex_Sq7Pl8M) Around minute 23, Leonetta calls us all out because we didn't stand up to sing the hymn and gets the whole congregation moving!
